Week 7

Start of Pregnancy Week 7 : Day 29 with 237 days to go

These are busy weeks with many of the major organs all developing and forming at once, and there is a hive of activity as your baby starts to develop and form. In fact by the end of this week your baby will have doubled in size from today. The following is developing during the course of this week:

The eye lenses are continuing to develop
The tongue is now recognizable and the nasal pits are beginning to form, and a primitive mouth will continue to develop
The second nonfunctional set of kidneys has formed
The gonads will now be present, although they wouldn't have developed into the particular sex organ as of yet.
Rapid brain and head growth will continue this week
The baby's legs and arms will develop into paddles
The upper and lower jaws can now be seen
Nutritional Sources: Eggs are a balanced source of all important vitamins, with the exception of vitamin C, and each egg offers 6g of high quality protein.
