Baby Development this week:

Pads will begin to form on your babys fingertips and toes, and later during the week the baby will start to develop finger and toe prints
By the 2nd day of this week meconium, fecal waste, will start to develop inside the babys bowel.
By the middle of this week the babys eyes will be forward facing rather than to the sides. The ears will also move to the sides of their final positions
From this week onwards your heart will have to work 40-50% harder to support your pregnancy, but a healthy heart should have no trouble coping with the increased work load
Myelinization will start to occur this week. Myelinization involves coating the nerves with a fatty substance called myelin to speed up nerve cell transmission and to insulate the nerves so messages aren't interrupted.
